Our wine barrel designs begin their lives as majestic white oak trees in select forests of France and the USA. Logs are handsplit and aged for several years. Skilled coopers craft each barrel individually, which are then charred or "toasted" from the inside to add to the wines' characters. Niagara’s winemakers pick different barrel styles to match their individual winemaking philosophy. After being home to award winning VQA wines for about four years we “upcycle” these barrels into unique home decor while maintaining the original shape, markings and wine stain of each barrel stave. All of our products are finished with food grade mineral oil which makes the wood grain and wine stain "pop" and makes it safe to use as food platters.
